Allison Liu Daisong

Allison Liu Daisong was born in China in 1974. She is a Ph.D. candidate of Renmin University of China specialized in Aesthetics (following renowned Professor Chen Chuanxi being a top scholar of Chinese art history and art master). She learnt Chinese ink paintings since childhood after Chinese ink masters, and practiced oil paintings after Mr. Lim Yew Kuan who is the ex-principal of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore. She is also the member of Society of Chinese Artists Singapore and Women Artists Association respectively; Managing Director of Song Art Foundation Singapore; the Vice President of Southeast Asian Ceramic Society (SEACS); and the Presidium of the Collectors’ Association of Art Amoy.
Through her in-depth study and comprehensive research on the Chinese and Western art history, she is the very rarely found established artist who could well blend the Chinese traditions of brushwork with powerful expression in ink and strokes, with the very contemporary philosophy and concept, to care about the concurrent happenings in our societies. In such a sense, it is a very avant-garde practice of arts.
She has published numerous books with extensive research on Asian art masters including Lim Hak Tai, Chen Wen Hsi, Cheong Soo Pieng, Liu Kuo-Sung and Yeo Hoe Koon. She is the Curator and book writer of 《INDULGENCE: Yeo Hoe Koon Asia Touring Exhibition》in 2016. Her most recent achievements included a solo exhibition at Hai Hui Art Gallery in August 2017 and at G Art Gallery in September 2018 respectively in Singapore.
She has been invited by Chinese government, universities and banks in Singapore, art forums in Singapore and Hong Kong to be a distinguished speaker, which include:
- Understanding the Fundamentals of Art Appreciation, UOB Privilege Banking, May 2015
